The idea to start Bump Skateboards came about in April 2009. My brother & I who skated most of our lives were recently making time to skate again in between careers and family. This time, my 6 year old son, Aiden took an interest also. We would bring him to the skatepark along with our friends who also grew up skating with us in the 80s. Aiden got so stoked on skating that he kept talking about starting a team after watching a competition. He said, “We can call it Bump!” The name seemed cool & simple! It would be the perfect thing to do to keep us involved in the skate world we grew up in and still love.
As a small grass-roots company, we hope to be a positive influence on the skate community and inspire kids to keep taking their skating to the next level. By offering sponsorships to talented skaters who show love for the sport, we hope to be a stepping stone to their future in skating.
